The 1^st Annual Congress of APPA, Alexandria, Egypt 21-23 October 2009, was a great success. Hundreds of Pediatric Pulmonologists attended a state of the art conference.

An important milestone for the APPA is the election of the 1^st Executive board.

The mission of APPA is to provide exceptional subspecialty care for children with respiratory conditions. This care is provided in an efficient and cost effective manner with accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.

In partnership with other health care providers APPA-members are committed to deliver extra ordinary service to our patients and their families in an environment that foster communication, promotes wellness and enhances team management.

Education and dissemination of new scientific knowledge and information through meetings, conferences and courses is a primary goal at APPA along with promotion of highest quality research to facilitate the discovery of new knowledge.

Dear friends and colleagues,

It gives me a great pleasure to extend to you all a very warm welcome to the Arab Pediatric Pulmonology Association (APPA) website.

APPA is a medical body which gathering all Arab Pediatric Pulmonologists and related specialists, formed in January 2009.

APPA is devoted to increase awareness, knowledge and practice of common pediatric respiratory disorders among the public and health care workers, to facilitate advances in the treatment of affected children within the Arab world and to promote research in the field of pediatric respiratory medicine.

It is expected that APPA will pursue and accomplish many objectives within the next few years.
