*Article (5): APPA Administration Council
Part (1):
The business administration and property management of the Association are run by a group of staff member officials and directors holding high positions. This group is called the "APPA Administration Council ".
Part (2):
Services:
All officials provides their services free of charge
Part (3):
Administration Council is composed of:
A- Administrative body(APPA Executive Board of Directors)
B- Advisors (Arab country representatives/delegates)
Part (4):
Administrative body (APPA Executive Board) is composed of seven members:
- Chief of membership Office
- President
- Former President
- Elected President
- Vice President
- Secretary General
- Treasurer
These are elected by the General Assembly for three years term. They are elected amongst members nominated by a "Nominating Committee" (Article 6). The term liability is for three renewable years for each member except the president cannot do more than one session. No more than two members from the same country should serve in APPA Administrative Council.
Part (5):
Advisors (delegates of Arab countries) are members of the Adminstraion Council on basis of one representative for each country. The national Pediatric Pulmonary Association/Society/ Assembly of the country appoints an advisor for a htree year renewable term. In the absence of national society in any given country or lack of response to the notice of Arab Association Chairman, the General Assembly of Arab Pediatric Pulmonology Association elects an advisor for that country for a term of 3 years.
* Article (6): Elections
Part (1):
The Nominating of Committee:
Composed of six members:
The former president as Nominating Committee President and five members amongst those who had an earlier responsibility in the Administration Council . They are appointed by the Association President for a three year renewable term approved by the General Assembly.
Part (2):
It is the duty of the Nominating Committee to select members amongst those applying to the Administration Council on the basis of two candidates for each position.
Part (3):
Election is conducted by direct confidential ballot of candidates through the Nominating Committee during the regular meeting of the General Assembly during the general conference. The vacant posts are won by majority number of votes of those eligible to vote according to the article (4).
Part (4):
Absent member in General Assembly can choose another present member to represent his vote in election providing that member is legally registered one and have power of attorney for no more than one member.
Part (5):
The Secretary General organizes the election process legally and administratively.
Part (6):
The Association President forms triplet committee amongst Association members to count votes. The President announces the result during the General Assembly election meeting.
